As Shiela slowly cut and saved the baby hair in an envelope, I found myself slightly sad as I realize that my little girl is no longer a baby. She is a toddler. Her soft baby curls are beginning to disappear as thicker, straighter hair replaces it. The words, no and ouch were used frequently towards the end, showing us that she knows what she wants and when she wants it and she is no longer content to just do what we say.
So, I sadly say good-bye to the baby years, for Kayla is our last. But I hold the memories close in my heart. And I gladly embrace the wonderful toddler/girl years ahead where we can share more fun mommy/daughter moments doing simple things like getting our hair cut.
Getting started - Lets learn to fish! This kept her busy the whole time...
I actually am not sure if she is scared or just mellow...
Bye bye baby curls
Thank goodness she kept her bangs long...what is up with hairdressers chopping little girls bangs so short??
Aren't we done yet?
And the finale...the special twisty up do!
So cute, so pretty and yet so not happy about the bow! She couldn't wait to yank it out!
