Boys Boys Boys

Today's most recent incident has inspired me to write about how crazy boys are!  Growing up with only a sister, I had no idea if all of the crazy boy stories were true.  I couldn't imagine that boys might try to swing from ceiling fans, or that they would do crazy things with the toilet, but as I raise 2 boys of my own, I realize that boys are curious, adventurous, and at times, they just don't think!

A friend told me today that one boy has a full brain, two boys together have half a brain, and three or more boys have no brain.  I love my boys, but sometimes when they are together the brain seems to be mysteriously absent!

Here is an account of our most recent fun:

* Today at 1, I was sitting at my computer when I saw a police car pull up.  I was very surprised.  When I opened the door he told me he was responding to a 911 call.  I was shocked and told him that no one had called 911 and since my 1 year old was sleeping, the only culprit, or so I thought, couldn't have done it.  He was very nice and said the lines could have gotten crossed.  So, he left and I went to check the phone.  Sure enough, there was 9115523467888 - so someone dialed 911.  That left the who to be determined.  Well, there is only one person here at 1:00 who was not being watched, Wyatt.  He was on the couch and when I approached him to ask if he knew who was just here, he burst into tears!  I think he thought they were going to take him away.  His guilt and sadness was punishment enough...but I knew this day was coming....when one of them dialed 911 by accident!

* Yesterday, because they "like the smell", something they have never said before, the boys sprayed sunblock all over my car!  This morning when I got into drive, I had a clear film all over the dash and when I went to wipe it all off, it made a white goo....not so easy to see through.

* A few days ago, they decided to take all of the sand and gravel out of our nice outdoor fireplace and dump it into the waterfall - so now we not only have to clean out the waterfall because the pipes will get clogged, but we have to replace the fireplace sand....Andrew loves all the extra work!

* Last week, they gorged themselves on bags and bags of fruit snacks, when they know the rule is 1 per day

* And the finale that really got us was that they used Andrew's nice golf clubs to play street hockey...

So, for all of you out there who have girls, you may be spared these crazy adventures!  For those of you with boys, and even crazier, more than one boy, I will pray for you!

I am sure there will be more to come and I know that through God's grace we will survive it all and someday we will laugh about all of this.
