Just for Fun

We have begun to hike with the kids and it is a lot of fun - as long as we can keep them motivated!  I have to give them credit though, despite the complaining and the sometimes sitting down right in the middle of the trail, they do a really good job, especially considering the trails around here are straight up for a few miles and then straight down!  Plus, given the hot weather, hiking can be exhausting.  

We love hiking because in just a few minutes, we feel hours away from the hustle and bustle of the bay area.  We love being little naturalists and looking for insects, miners lettuce, lizards and frogs.  And, the views of the Mountain are gorgeous!

The boys hinting for frogs - unfortunately, we didn't find many that day.  But a few days before at another pond, we found a bunch of teeny tiny frogs and each of the boys caught one.  We let them go though - mommy the humanitarian, couldn't handle bringing them home and killing them!

And then we all ran all the way down!  Even Mommy with KK on her back...that was the best part!
