Summer Fun!

Summer is the best time of year, days seem slower as we set our own pace, friends are in abundance, the sun is out and water seems to be the end all be all!  In the first few weeks of summer, we have been loving the pool, slip n slide and sprinklers - the boys are becoming more confident in the pool and Kayla is considering getting wet (although it still is not her number one choice).

I am a few weeks behind on my blog so I wanted to put in some pictures and tell everyone about what we have been up to!  Enjoy.

Our last day of Kindergarten Party with our best buds, the Holbrooks - Tyler and Tyler take to the slip n slide racing each other to the finish while Wyatt trails behind!

The three amigos just happy to be hanging out together!

Kayla and Nicole wanted to join in with the boys - the girls really didn't get the hang of slip n slide, but they had fun just playing in the water

It is almost impossible to get all 5 to look at the same time!

Another activity we have been doing is going on nature walks.  We bring pads of paper and pens and trapse through the neighborhood, finding butterflies, lady bugs, lizards, bees and more.  We then write their names and draw their pictures and then head home to paint!  Here the boys are painting a picture of the fish they found in the small creek by our house - they loved the creek - just floating leaves and sticks down it and watching the fish dart in and out of the grass.  It is such a good reminder that the best things about summer are the simple things, like exploring and enjoying nature!

This summer has been great cause we get to see Aunt Rara a ton - since she isn't working.  Kayla loves her, especially her belly - Kayla spends tons of times just petting Sarah's belly and saying Baby In There....what we keep wondering is if she really understands??

And the pool - just in three weeks, Wyatt went from being scared to get his nose wet, to completely submerging himself and diving under the lane lines with a friend at their pool!  He has come so far in his confidence...we hope that by the end of the summer, he will be swimming on his own, something that he is still way too scared to do.  But as we have seen with Tyler, once they gain that confidence, swimming comes easy!

As our resident, FISH, Tyler has exceeded all expectations for swimming.  He is doing free style, learning to dive, jumping off diving boards, diving in the deep end for rockets and things, and loving every minute of his new found freedom.  He has even figured out that if he goes under when I am telling him to get out, he gets more time cause he can pretend he doesn't hear me!  Now he says he wants to race, so maybe next year we will be doing swim team, who knows.

And just having fun with Dad!  I will blog about Fathers Day more in the next few days - but this picture speaks volumes about how much these two boys cherish their dad!  He is their model and their world and they could not love him more.  Sitting on his lap is as good as it gets!
